James's Story
Life
After finishing at Sevier High, I attended Louisiana Tech University where I was the first African-American to be commissioned from the school's Air Force ROTC Program. I took my BA Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and accepted a commission from the United States Air Force in May 1973. In 1978, I received a MS Degree in Human Resources Management from the State University of NY at Binghamton. In 1989, I completed 39 hours above the MS in Vocational Education at Temple University. I retired from the Air Force in 1993 and started a second career as a Probation and Parole Supervisor for the State of Delaware. In 1996, I moved to Maryland but took work just across the Potomac River with the State of Virginia's Pro...Expand for more
bation and Parole Division, Fairfax County. In 1998, I started a business and lateral career as a Dispute Resolution Professional. Our firm, NITT4 Mediation (Now Is The Time For Mediation) provides mediation services to persons who are involved in disputes over property settlement, child custody and visitation issues. I have been married to my wife, Mary (Honey) since August 6, 1988. We have no children but there are two adult children from my earlier marriage. Life has had some setbacks but overall, its been just great and I feel blessed to be doing well. In 2001, I received the Doctorate of Education Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Americus University, Washington, DC. I wish God's Blessings on all of you. JEB
